IDEaS COVID-19 Challenges Launch

IMPORTANT CHANGE! In order to submit a proposal, ORS – on behalf of SFU as the Bidder- needs to request an “ePOST Conversation” from the funder by no later than June 12, 2020. If you intend to apply and have not contacted ORS yet, please do so before June 12 to ensure we have the ability to submit. Please also note that certification requirements (ethics, biohazard, etc) must be initiated at the time of application, not after funding decision is received for this particular opportunity.
IDEaS is participating in a multi-departmental initiative seeking innovative solutions to help in the fight against CV-19. IDEaS has created three challenges that are focused on improving disease tracking and likely exposure to CV-19 using data analytics as well as researching new decontamination technology and improved personal protective equipment. The following challenges are now available:
1) Rapid response: Real-time insights for pandemic decision-making
2) Scrubbing your scrubs: Finding ways to re-use Covid-19 protective gear
3) Super sanitize: Cleaning sensitive equipment and workspaces
Questions regarding this opportunity can be sent to the IDEaS Program mailbox at DND.IDEaS-IDEeS.MDN@forces.gc.ca.
You may also wish to register to the information session on June 11, 2020 to answer questions about the application process.
Eligibility: These challenges are open to individuals, academia, not-for-profit organizations, for-profit organizations, and provincial/territorial/municipal governments.
Funding: Phase 1 projects will be awarded up to $200,000 CDN for a period of six months
Deadline: June 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. EDT
**SFU Signature Sheet is required and must be submitted by June 18, 2020 along with complete application, proposal, and budget**
