MITACS Elevate Fall 2022

The Mitacs Elevate Fall 2022 call for proposals is now open — and enhanced funding is available for postdocs in emerging industry sectors.
Mitacs Elevate program, open to all disciplines, provides critical career and skills training to postdoctoral fellows through real-world collaborations. This Fall, there are two award options available: Standard and Thematic.
Standard:
As in prior years, postdoctoral fellows can apply for two years of funding valued at $60,000/year in any discipline.
Thematic:
Sector-specific experts can apply for two years of enhanced funding valued at $80,000/year. Applications must address at least one of the following themes:
- Agriculture and food
- Artificial intelligence
- Biomanufacturing
- Cleantech
- Entertainment and media
- Quantum science
- Social innovation
Through Elevate, postdoctoral fellows get the opportunity to:
- Manage a long-term collaborative research project with a company or not-for-profit organization
- Receive exclusive professional development training in career fundamentals, interpersonal skills, communication, entrepreneurialism, leadership and management, and much more
- Cultivate cross-disciplinary networks and take advantage of peer-learning opportunities
- Receive a certificate of completion upon completing all program requirements
If you collaborate with an Indigenous partner organization, please note that they contribute only 25% of the cost of the project.

Deadline:
February 8, 2023 (5 p.m., PT). Full Proposal Deadline. SFU Signature Sheet and fully signed proposal due to ors@sfu.ca no later than 3 business days prior to the deadline. Indirect costs are not allowed. Institutional sign-off is required; applicant (not ORS) submits the application package to the agency.
