Discovery Frontiers (DF)

Discovery Frontiers (DF) 2017: Biodiversity and Adaptation of Biosystems

The Discovery Frontiers (DF) initiative brings together groups of researchers to address a major research challenge. The group led by world-class Canadian researchers will incorporate new and emerging ideas, and combine their complementary expertise to conduct transformative, paradigm-changing research.  Proposals should be for concerted, broad-based, collaborative efforts and not individual research projects.

Calls for proposals will be issued periodically by NSERC (e.g., past calls: 2013, 2015 and 2017). A limited number of proposals will be accepted in each competition. The last call for proposals was April 17, 2017. Researchers who hold a DG can apply and hold DF funding.  More information available at the NSERC DF website.

ORS requires, 1 week prior to the NSERC deadline, the following:
1. SFU signature sheet (SIG)
2. Submit mode (eSUB mode)

If your application is not in "submit" mode and/or your SFU Signature Sheet has not been received by this deadline, ORS will not be able to complete a review of your application prior to submission; however, your application will still be submitted directly to SSHRC.
