Blue Planet Prize

This award is presented by the Asahi Glass Foundation to individuals or organizations worldwide in recognition of outstanding achievements in scientific research and its application that have helped provide solutions to global environmental problems. The ¥50 million Prize is offered in the hopes of encouraging efforts to bring about the healing of the Earth’s fragile environment.
Each year, from August to October, nominations are accepted from nominators around the world.
Note: If institutional nomination/external expert review is sought (individuals may also nominate candidates outside of the institutional process), please submit a candidate suggestion form at least three months in advance of the external deadline to recommend a candidate to the President’s Advisory Committee on Awards, Honours and Prizes.
