Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program - SSHRC

The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships Program is administered by Canada’s three federal research granting councils (CIHR, NSERC and SSHRC). The objectives of the program is to attract and retain top-tier postdoctoral talent, both nationally and internationally, develop leadership potential and position postdoctoral fellows for success as research leaders of tomorrow. A Banting PDF is valued at $70,000 per year (taxable), for two years.
The application must be completed in full collaboration with the proposed host institution. Also, it must include the host institution’s commitment to the research program and environment with which the applicant is to be affiliated. Applicants will need to read the SFU Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies website and direct all queries to them. SFU Deadlines for the Banting competition:
Stage 1 (Preliminary Selection): June 22, 2017
Stage 2 (Complete Full Application): Sept 1, 2017
Stage 3 (Final Endorsement): Sept 20, 2017
Applicants should read the Selection committee guide prior to commencing their application. This guide lists the three evaluation criteria and has useful information on how the criteria are evaluated.
