Royal Society of Canada (RSC) Ursula Franklin Award in Gender Studies

The Ursula Franklin Award in Gender Studies was established by the RSC in 1999, through the generous donation of Fellows, to recognize significant contributions by a Canadian scholar in the humanities and social sciences to furthering our understanding of issues concerning gender.

Note: There are two routes for nomination: (1) by a Fellow, and supported by two other nominators, or (2) by Institutional Members, supported by two other nominators, neither of whom needs to be a Fellow. Institutional Members may nominate a max. of one candidate for every Medal or Award being offered each year. If an institutional nomination is sought, please contact Institutional Strategic Awards at awards@sfu.ca well in advance of the nomination deadline.
