Royal Society of Canada (RSC) Pierre Chauveau Medal

The medal is awarded for a distinguished contribution to knowledge in the humanities other than Canadian literature and Canadian history. The silver medal is offered every two years if there is a suitable candidate.
The biennial competition (odd years) typically opens in January and closes in March with an internal deadline in the preceding autumn (deadlines will be reviewed and verified annually).
Note: All nominations must be initiated by RSC Fellows or Institutional Members (IMs). Institutional Members may nominate a max. of one candidate for every Medal or Award being offered each year. Institutional Strategic Awards (ISA) coordinates the internal selection of nominees for institutional nomination. To promote equity, diversity and inclusion, departments and faculties should ensure that all eligible candidates are considered and given the opportunity to self-identify. To recommend a candidate to the President’s Advisory Committee on Awards, Honours and Prizes, please submit a candidate suggestion form by the internal deadline. For more information, please contact awards@sfu.ca.
