Royal Society of Canada (RSC) Pierre Chauveau Medal
The medal is awarded for a distinguished contribution to knowledge in the humanities other than Canadian literature and Canadian history. The silver medal is offered every two years if there is a suitable candidate.
Note: There are two routes for nomination: (1) by a Fellow, and supported by two other nominators, or (2) by Institutional Members, supported by two other nominators, neither of whom needs to be a Fellow. Institutional Members may nominate a max. of one candidate for every Medal or Award being offered each year. If an institutional nomination is sought, Chairs/Directors/Deans are invited to submit a pre-proposal form (one-page statement and CV of the candidate) to Institutional Strategic Awards by the internal deadline noted below. The President's Advisory Committee on Awards, Honours and Prizes will recommend which candidates proceed to full institutional nomination, with the assistance of Institutional Strategic Awards.
The 2019 competition will open in the week of January 14, 2019.
